ahhh come on,,, I was sold on Zumo's, cause they are made for bikes by bikers,,,
now you go and throw a monkey wrench in the whole shpeeel,,,, what to do?? what to do?!!
The Nuvi 350, with the bell mount is awesome. I use the same unit in my car, so one unit does all.
Bluetooth to the phone - as I understand it, it only lets you use the Zumo as a speaker for the phone. Not a big seller for the xtra bucks. Nuvi is water-resistant (I've washed bike with it on) and does a whole day on battery, and is very easily used on the bike even with gloves.
The 550 comes with a car kit that includes a speaker and microphone. I use it in the car with the cell phone, makes a great hands free kit. I'm going to eventually get the XM kit as well.
I think the car mount would cost almost as much as the difference between the 450 and 550. I decided that it was well worth the difference in price.
Based on all the posts I've seen around here I had already decided to get the 550 but wasn't sure how my CFO was gonna react to the price.[]
Then about an hour ago my wife tells me she was so impressed with my daughters GPS when they went to her college last week, she has decided we should get one for ourselves. I tell her I've been thinking about getting one for the bike and we could use it in your SUV as well.
She like the idea and I'll be ordering today as soon as I find the best price.[8D]
