I knew I should not have financed through HD/eaglemark savings... (I am a Banker by the way!), but they were offering such a silly low APR that I did it. I am now writing the check from my Home equity line and paying it off. I do not care if the rate is higher at this point. I will take the tax right off.
So here is why I am so mad,
I got the first bill at the begining of the month. I mailed the payment the next morning. Here we are almost 2 1/2 weeks later and it still has not posted to my account. Now when I asked (before I signed) if I could pay online or by phone the answer was yes... but what they left out is that they charge $12 for a phone payment, and $6.00 for an online payment[:@][:@][:@]So I am forced to send check by mail. Now they say if they do not receive it by the 26th, I am late[:@][:@][:@][:'(][:'(][:'(][:@][:@][:@]So I have to place a stop payment(cost is $25) and then pay either $12, or $6 to pay by phone or web to avoid a late fee #!@%#$!%@#%%$@#!@!#!@%#$
I AM REALLY STARTING TO HONESTLY DISLIKE HARLEY DAVIDSON BUSINESS PRACTICES.
I love the product and the experiance, but man they are A$$ HOLES! Banks and Cust Service alike...
I have had no problem with them at all. I have the auto-payment setup and there is no extra charge for it. Into my 2nd year. I get an email on the same day each month saying the funds have been withdrawn from my bank and applied to my account.
How else are they going to get the interest rate up where they want it...unless you are late and default on your agreement.... They seem to be in sorta of a hurry...
Good luck....
Food for thought.
I too work forsome banks but not in a Bankers capacity.
I agree that some of HD's business practices are not consumer friendly. Perhaps this recession will teach them the consumer is all-mighty. Get everything in writing and when you can't writedown their names, employee numbers, dates and times. Document everything.
