Default Diamond Back Control Cable

Installing new handlebars & control cables on my bike and trying to decide between stainless steel & the new diamond back control cables. Would like to hear from some of you that have these cables and your opinions on them.

I thought the Diamond Back cables were braided stainless, and that Diamond Back was just a name the MOCO came up with for them.....????

Ditto.

I really like the looks of the Diamondbacks, but the plastic sheath over the braided stainless is quite fragile and is easily damaged during installation and use. You'll want to be extra careful during the routing of them during installation. But they sure look nice, and after having them on my bike for over a year they still looked bright and clean.

On the Harley Davidson parts web site the Diamondback cable is defined as a micro fine wire that is braided into the cable, but it didn't say anything about stainless. Check out the web site write up http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

Agree on the DB cable covers - very fragile. Be very careful OR get Barnett cables.

Would the Diamondback cablesbe as fragile after installation? If so, maybe the regular stainless steel cables would be a better choice?

Appreciate the feed back

I would only use Barnett Platinums if you like the Diamond Back look. Barnett makes very durable cables. Just take it easy when you install any brand of cables. HD cables tend to have a soft protective case IMO.

Agreed, Barnett cables are the best. Had them on my sportster, and they are going on this scoot as well.

I have had the diamond backs on my bike for 3 years now still look good. The other brands seem to be more of a gray color compared to the diamond backs. You do have to be careful with the clear covering but other than that no complaints.
