Default D&D Fatcat

Ok, I'm a bastard and already posted this same question in the Exhaust section but, since this is a bit busier usually, I thought I would post it here too.... So, maybe someone like PhilM can answer this or anyone that has a D&D Fatcat. With the Feds about to cough up some bucks in addition to a standard tax return, I'm thinking that I might pony up for a D&D Fatcat to go along with my new HQ 95" build. What I do want to avoid however is an obnoxiously loud pipe. I currently have Hooker tuned flow slip ons and they are LOUD. I know when the new build is done, the HQ 95 one, that they are going to be even louder and the wife doesn't appreciate it too much. So, I know the D&D Fatcat is a great performance pipe but is it terribly loud? Thanks for your inputs.

Nope, not too loud with quiet baffle. Just specify quiet baffle when ordering

They are not bad with the quiet baffle. With the standard baffle, they are moderately loud under normal circumstances and VERY LOUD when ridden aggressively ~ espically when you have a motor w/increased compression & cams... like yours!

Get the quiet baffle.

I really like the sounds of my Fatcat with quiet baffle, of the 9 exhausts I've had on this bike..........it's the keeper.

It will bark when you twist the wick, but it's pretty mellow when just cruising along.

I ride the highway to work in the summer, and I can hear the radio and everything around me just fine with it.

Had a fellow rider comment on much quieter and more pleasant when he rides behind me. Before I had R/H true duals and they were pretty loud. But they did sound gooooood. Tim

I have Phils old fatcat and the OL refuses to ride behind me now. I do have a high comp with cams and I do ride agressive, I usually don't shift the bike until i am over 4000rpm so it tends to rattle the windows down the road. I can still hear the radio even with the full face on this time of year. I am going to have to ride tailgun in group rides at least until I get a quiet baffle from somebody.

I have a modified standard baffle that I'm looking to sell. The previous owner of my Fatcat took out the standard baffle, cut open the outer case, filled it with packing, then welded it shut again. I ran it for about a week before putting in the quiet baffle he sent me also, and I actually found the quiet baffle to be slightly louder then the modified baffle. I'd like to get $50 + shipping for it.

If you want it, send me a PM and we'll go from there.

Ihave the performance baffle in my 117 build and it is loud especially under heavy acceleration. I also have tried the standard baflle on that build and it was a nice rumble. The standard baffle on my 103 build was perfect...i think the quiet baffle is too quiet. Anyway--i have the muffler with the standard baffle in it for sale--not the entire exhaust--just the muffler with the standard baffle installedif you are interested. Fits touring bikes. MAybe if you buy the exhaust with quiet baffle this might be a nice 2nd to run on weekends or when you wish to rip it up a bit. It's a real fast swap....much easier than trying to pull the baffle itself in and out. If interested PM me.....otherwise--all d&d's are great pipes and sound good. good luck--
