Can I make adjustments to a sert or pc III with my home pc or do I need a laptop. Just want to make sure of this before I buy either. Thanks in advance TOM
Yes, you load the laptop with it connected to the SERT and data link on your bike, operating the SERT in "data mode."
The new SERT Pro Tuner will record up to 15 minutes of data without the laptop--so if you haven't already purchased the SERT, it may be worth waiting for the new version.
Before I had my laptop, I bought a 50' cable that I would run from my desktop out the front window and to the bike on the walkway. Do my adjustments, and be good to go.
Now with the laptop and my DTT system, I bring the laptop with me on trips and I can make adjustments on the fly or apply the BLM's to the maps. And with wi-fi everywhere's now you can have internet all the time.
Get a Winn DIxie buggy. Strap it to the back of your bike. Assemble your desk top computer into the grocery buggy (printer can ride in the baby carrier portion). Power up the desk top with a AC/DC converter you attached to your battery. Hit the road, get it up to 80 mph. Oops, never mind, the printer paper will probably blow out of the buggy.
