New key fob for '08

Default New key fob for '08

I lost a set of keys within the first couple of weeks. I'm sure they are around the house but I just can't find them.
(yeah I know bad luck with bike...it just can't last)

Anyway,I bought a new key fob but it says it MUST be installed by a HD tech.
I don't have my service manual yet. Is the procedure in there or am I going to have to have them do it?

My dealer sells it, programs it, for 45.00. Thats not bad. I just bought a new key for my BMW and it cost 150.00. How much does your dealer want?

You only get one key fob with the 08's? I think my 03 Ultra came with 2, that sucks if they only give you one. I would like to know how much they charge to set up new one, so plz let us know when you get yours done. Good luck, BRO

2 FOB's w/ 08's. Dealer should help w/ programming to bike at no cost. It might take a week to get. I think it is considered a special order item.

Got two with mine also.I don't know about the programing. Got a manual on order.

Two came with my 07. I lost one last year and had to reorder it. It was special order and the dealer matched it with thebike's security system. I don't remember exact cost but was around $45 for the FOB and a few minutes to do whatever they did to make the bike recognize it.

Seems like waste of money to me....just push the bike into the house, room to room pushing the starter button. When you get with in 5 or 6 feet the motor will start and after the fumes clear out of the house you'll have a good idea where to look! I mean is that simple or what.[sm=laughingsmilie.gif]

OK I'll have them do it at my 1000 mile. Bought the Key Fob and 2 keys (they won't sell you just 1 key).
