Does anyone know how to program key fob for 08 roadking without going to the dealer? do you program the new style key fob without the button the same way as the one with the button?

 

No can do. You have to take it in.

 

The (out of town) dealership that sold me my bike forgot to program my key fobs so I had to take it to the local dealership to have them programmed. I'm assuming a H-D scantool & software is needed.

 

I was reading in my owners manual near the back and it tells how to program the key fobs. It seemed fairly simple.

 

I have a 08 RKC and the alarm was not working. The dealer forgot to program it. Only the dealer can do that. Any HD dealer. Love the bike

I'm thinking if memory serves me right that steps for programming your key fobs is in your owners manual.

 

If you put the security system on yourself the dealer has to mate the security system to the bike to get it to work. If the security system came with the bike there should be no programming involved for the FOB. The only programming is to enter your security code so you can start the bike without the FOB in an emergency, and the instructions for doing that are in the owners manual.
