The only thing I wish I had done was to wait for the 08 model year. I love the SG and would buy it again. Stereo is a must have.

I don't think my radio has been off since I bought the bike - yes, I would do it again. That said, I'd like to also have a Dyna of some sort, maybe a Fat Bob.

The biggest surprise I had was how much I liked having the tunes while on a ride.I just liked having all the gauges right up front and the batwing. I thought, radio? I don't need no stinkin radio & I don't but it sure is nice once you have it. Now I seldom go anywhere without it on.

When I first bought the SG I had to get used to the seat position coming from a Softail Custom a few years back. Putting a backrest on it made all the difference in the world & then I did a little practice from Ride Like a Pro (not enough but at least some) to get used to how it handled differently.

Now I look at the old Softail like an old girlfriend. They can still catch your eye & you have fond memoriesbut you can't go back, it's just not the same. Once you get used to a SG & some creature comforts you won't look back.

Yes I would do it again. I use my tunes every time I ride, love the wind shield.

The Ultra is nice, but it's heavy and I have a bad knee.
Yes is is heavy, I have a bad knee also and I have a knee brace I wear most of the time. Makes a big difference with the extra support. I do not worry about that knee going out and know I can handle the bike much easier with it.

Tunes are a must, but like me tell you first hand ......you will probably sell the sporty, give it to wife (if you have one, or if she wants to ride), or it will sit 99.9% of the time.

Went from FXSTC to FLSTS and just loved the look of the SG. Wasn't worrying 'bout the tunes. Now don't go anywhere without them on. Got the detachable tourpak and hardley ever take it off. Love the storage. Makes it more ridable to more places.
