Still sticking with the RoadKing after 7 great years. TheONLY regret - I could have savedsome moneyby buying a used bike over new. As far as the music - I could add it on, but being a high-end (home) stereo nut, most car stereo systemsare simply too painful to listen too. I'd rather hear my music live when I make a whistle-stop.

Last summer I traded one of my two Sportsters on an Ultra. I absolutely LOVE Sportsters. But for long distance and/or two up riding, the Ultra is uber nice. Two of the biggest selling points was a sound system and all that great luggage room. It's a great bike for it's intended use: Touring (and quick trips to the conveniece store.)

However, for poker runs and/or just bombing around the twisties, I'll take the Sporty any day. It's almost a Corvette/Cadillac comparison.

If I were buying another bike would I buy another SG?

Damned skippy I would.

I've owned & ridden both tourers and non-tourers. I won't own anything but a bagger from here on out, and probably nothing without a batwing either.

I first started looking at Sportsters. I started tallying everything I wanted to add to it. I figured that I would not need to change anything if I went with the Roadie. Well the guys on this forum helped me see that there is a lot that can be done to a bike that already comes with everything.

Get the radio/CD. Like so many others, I didn't think I would use it, but now I don't ride without having it on. Skynyrd, ZZ Top, etc. bring a whole new dimension to riding.

My first Harley was a Sporty and it took me maybe a month to figure out it was too small and I've had a touring bike ever since. I do miss the nimbleness and spirited riding of the XL though.

Buy the RK and you can add a removable fairing. The best of both worlds.
