Anyone have a good trick for re-filling the primary? I tried a small funnel and puring oil down a hose, but nothing seems to fit into that small gap between the housing and whatever that is in there.
Thanks,
Try an auto parts store, what you are looking for is a funnel with a long clear tube on it, should be a clear funnel with a blue cap on it. At the end of tube is a black plug that is just the perfect size to fit (and stay) in the hole. This nice thing is that funnel has an on/off adapter at the top of the hose and the basin holds 1QT of oil. This makes it extremely easy to pour the oil and then walk to the bike and insert the plug into the primary. On tip, the funnel has a mesh screen at the bottom....take this out unless you want to hold that funnel for 10 minutes. I think I found mine at Advance.

Since you have an '05 you have a primary chain inspection cover. Just remove the cover and pour it in through the inspection cover opening from the quart container. No spills or anything.
i have squirt type caps that fit right on the quart bottle
the kind that come on like 90-100 wt oil for car rears or
the kind on the lucas oil bottles. go to your local recycling
dept find all kinds of them
Thanks for all the tips. I did not even notice that the 05's hava an additional cover on the primary. So I can remove this inspection cover, instead of removing the derby cover, and pour the oil in there? Do I still pour till it reaching the bottom of the opening, or is that measure just for the derby cover?
I guess, I can just put in the whole quart, right?
