Default How do I reset the security code on my 06 FLHX?

I am trying to enter a new password for my 06 Street Glide. The manual says that I should get a readout on my odometer...I get nothing? The blinker flash, but no readout on the odometer? I have the "Button Fob",with a siren.I bought the bike used, but the former owner said he never set a security code...I'm guessing that Harley set a code? The manual states: Turn on-off-on-off-on.Then hit the left blinker button twice-then the right button twice(quickly!).The blinker flash 2 times, telling me I am in "personal mode".The odomenter is suppose to give me a previous code read-out,with the first number of the code flashing...I get no code on the odometer? Does anyone know why? Or the procedure?

This is more for how to enter the code but you will figure it out.

I had the same problem with my 07.

You must have the original code in order to change it. If you don’t have it the dealer can reset it. Most dealers use a default code like mine did which was the last 5 digits of my VIN.

To access the display simply turn the neck switch on and QUICKLY and I mean quickly depress and hold both turn signal switches until you see the # 1 blinking in the speedo display. It is asking you to enter your code. Once its entered you can change it but like I said you must have the code to change it. Remember the code because they are notorious for locking you out! The alarm will kill the bike and you wont be able to start it without the “Oh Shi* lockout” code. Keep the small card that’s in the back of the manual on you with your code on it.

Once you get the blinking display just go though the numbers with the left turn switch then when you get to the number you need simply hit the right turn switch to enter and it will jump to the next column.

Try the last five of your VIN 1st you might get lucky. After it accepts it check the manual for the instructions on how to change it. I cant remember but its not difficult.

I picked up my new 08 Saturday, and the salesman said Harley sets all of the codes to 11111 at the factory.

You have to follow the proceedure fast (within 2 seconds) to enter that mode after turning the ignition on or it will not work.

ALSO, hit the right blinker only ONCE when doing this, not twice

1. If necessary verify the correct 5 digit PIN if there is one entered, if not try this proceedure to enter a PIN of your own.

2. Turn ignition key to IGNITION

3. Quickly within 2 seconds of turning key hold both turn signal switches in until confirmation.
> Key icon flashes at a fast rate In the odometer window a flashing dash will be followed by four more dashes.

4. Enter first digit (A) in the PIN by pressing left turn switch A times.
> The first digit (A) in the odometer will be the first digit in the PIN.

5. Press RIGHT turn switch 1 time. (Serves as enter key)
> The first digit is stored and the dash will flash.

6. Enter the second digit (B) in the pin number by pressing LEFT turn switch B times.
> The second digit (B) in the odometer will be the second digit in the PIN.

7. Press RIGHT turn switch one time. (Serves as enter key)
> The second digit is stored and the next dash will flash.

8. Enter the third digit (C) in the PIN by pressing LEFT turn switch C times.
> The third digit (C) will be the third digit in the PIN.

9. Press RIGHT turn switch one time. (Serves as enter key)
> The third digit is stored and the next dash will flash.

10. Enter the fourth digit (D) in the PIN by pressing LEFT turn switch D times.
> The fourth digit (D)in the odometer will be the fourth digit in the PIN.

11. Press RIGHT turn switch 1 time. (Serves as enter key)
> The fourth digit (D) is stored and the next dash will flash.

12. Enter the fifth digit (E) in the PIN by pressing LEFT turn switch E times.
> The fifth digit (E) in the odometer will be the fifth digit in the PIN.

13. Press RIGHT turn switch 1 time. (Serves as enter key)
> The fifth digit is stored.

Worked like a charm. When the bike dont respond after replacing the fob batteries twice , cause the 1st could be dead, 2nd is unlikely....then do the 11111... took me literally 5 sec and this happened once before when I was 11 hrs away, riding solo...Took starter cap off and pushed the.plunger, when all I had to do was enter 11111.... now I know and if your reading this, you know. Let it eat....Be easy

I just did this on my new to me ‘12. The procedure is in the owner’s manual. I have a proximity fob, you have the button fob.

You DO NOT need to know the code to change it. You do need to have an operating fob present.

To reset the code with a TSSM equipped bike (with button fob), you will:
1) Set your kill switch to off
2) Quickly turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on
3) Immediately press and let go of the left turn signal switch twice (press, let go, press, let go)
4) Press and let go of your fob button twice (press fairly hard, it's designed to resist being pressed by keys and whatnot in your pocket)
5) Current PIN number will be displayed on odometer
6) Change the PIN by pressing the left signal until the desired number is reached
7) Press the fob button twice to cycle to the next number and repeat step 7
8) Press and let go the right signal and turn ignition off when 5 digit PIN is satisfactory
NOTE: Steps 2 through 4 must be completed in quick succession of each other.

Now you can have the bike armed, and disarm with the PIN (example PIN will be 25522 in the following steps):
1) Ignition switch to Accessories
2) Immediately press both turn signals at the same time (red key light on you speedometer will flash rapidly if done right)
3) Press and let go the left signal 2 times
4) Press and let go the right signal once
5) Press and let go the left signal 5 times
6) Press and let go the right signal once
7) Repeat for each of the last three numbers of the PIN (left 5 times, right once, left 2 times, right once, left 2 times, right once)
8) Red key on speedo will stop blinking if done right (security has been disarmed)
NOTE: Steps 2 through 7 must be completed in quick succession of each other.

I cut that from here:https://www.harley-davidsonforums.co...y-codes.32977/
