I got a tool kit with the bike, and it is OK. Snap On tools used to the stuff back in the day, but they can be expensive. Another alternative is Cruz Tools, they make some nice kits too. I have always ended up adding to whatever came with the bike kit. Keep in mind my last bike was 18 years old, so the tool kit on that beast was starting to take over the tank bag...
My only gripe with OEM tool kits is that the quality is kinda iffy sometimes.. I would rather wait for a sale at Sears, and get some Craftsman stuff, grease it, and throw it in a roll.
IMHO Snap-On tools are the best in the business. You pay for quality but don't let the name fool you in the motorcycle kit. Looks like you get the a few of their good tools but the pliars, one wrench and screwdriver looks like a cheap version. Maybe they are BluePoint (Snap-On Ownes them too). If they put the good stuff in the kit it would cost a lot more then $200.
I recived a HD tool kit with my Street Glide as well and I did replace the Hex Keys with a better set...
