Hey guys here we go again. After getting absolutely no help from our local HD dealer, this dealership in Victoria, BC has to have the worst customer service anywhere, I come back to this forum for assistance.
I own a 2003electro glide standard and want tochange out theexisting oil sending unitwith a unit used with an oil pressure gauge. The instructions say a 15/16" open crow foot wrench is required toremove the old and a 1 1/16" open crow foot is required to reinstall the new.
I was prepared to purchase them until I found out that for each wrench thecost is about $35 per. Seems a little extreme for a one time usage don't you think?
I've tried the local tool rental shops - nothing. With a limited array of tools and not having much "mechanical" imagination and with NO help from the local dealership, I asked the readers of this forum for your help.
Any ideas?

With all due respect, welcome to the world of wrenching! NO quality tools are cheap - which is one of the reasons mechanics charge what they do. The prices you state DO seem a tad steep, though - ah'd be inclined ta check on eBay ta see what could be found. Might even look into a complete set that would have the ones ya need - because crows-foot wrenches kin come in handy.
Over the years, ah've worked on everything from model airplane engines ta Cat tractors, so yeah - ah've got more'n one or two wrenches....

RE: Need your help.....
Wow, the last time I bought a set of crows foot wrenches it cost about that for the set! But then that was back when christ was a corporal...
Was just looking at that, those are SK tools, right up there with Snap On; great tools but pricey. I'd try Sears and look at some Craftsman, good tools and if you break one just bring it back and they replace it (unless they've changed that, ain't broke nothing lately)
Try your local aklands dealer... look in the yellow pages.
Failing that kncukle under and buy the ones that you need to complete the job as sooner or later you will wnt to add something else and will need those two expensive wrenches again.
Or you can take it to your local dealer and open your wallet and let them empty it for you.
just my .02 worth this morning.
