Can anyone tell me ifa 1999 FLHR Road King Gas tank and fender set will work on my 2004 RK ??? I found a set on ebay that I like alot. But for some reason I was thinking in 2004 the rear fender was different then the older ones. Also the Gas tank is for a carbureted bike as is mine but for some reason the top of the tank looks different then mine. This one is solid on top. Mine is not, mine has a plate on top with several little bolts holding it on. Mine looks like a Fuel Injected tank but my RK is not. Anyone know if HD changed anything from 99 & up to where this paint set will now work on my 2004 Road King??????
1998 through 2002 Carb Tank Part # 61225-98 (primed)
2003 the tankchanged to part # 61268-03 (primed)
At least one change came in the 2003 model year. I did not check 2004 because of the change in 2003....
99 carb tank will not work on the 2004 at least by part #...I do not know what the difference is.
