Default forward facing intake

Do the intakes that face forward have more air flow than say a AN big sucker? And if I am getting my bike retuned, should I change it out before the tune?

I actually like the ones that have 2 elements. What would you suggest as I have only used AN BIg Suckers on both bikes that we have?

Thanks

Changing air filters will change air flow which influences the tune of your engine. The forward facing air cleaners add length and volume to the intake tract as "seen" by the engine and will also afect the tune. So in closing yess it should be one before you dyno tune your engine.

I have the heavy breather from h/d I like it but there are many on the market I like mine because it turns up as it goes forward and even if I get blow buy while I am running the hell out of it it does not drip oil.

Hey monkish, thanks for starting this thread. I'm also considering a 90 degree intake and am looking forward to hearing some input. I think I am going with a Wimmer Machine 90:

as I have heard some good stuff about them.

I think the looks of these filters are bad a@# but I have a concern about them and it is why I have not bought one so with that said I have a stupid question.
What happenes if you get caught in the rain or stuck in wet driving conditions with one of these??
Will all that water get sucked into your motor??
