As you know I have tried the lowering kit once and had issue with it as far as 2 up riding and the increase in air pressure required over the stock amount needed. Of coarse we bottomed out a couple good times while we were figuring out the pressure needed to run without problems but never zeroed in on it. That said, last weekend I reinstalled the kit again and put the shocks to 40 psi and went for a ride 2 up. Thats the right air pressure amount for us with this kit installed, but I still had the chattering vibration while appliing the rear brake coming to a stop light, even with the clutch lever pulled back. This chattering continued until I finally applied BOTH brakes at once, at which point this issues stopped happening. Today coming home I desided to remove the kit and deal with the fact that the wife and I combined are to much for the bike lowered in this manor. After everything was put back to stock I inspected the brackets and found something I was not expecting to find givin the strength of stainless steel. The round part that is welded to the flat stock was bent and deformed into a semi circle/almost oval shape. While I know it was due to an overlaod situation and totaly my fault, it does bring to light the fact that this part is subject to movment and becoming so out of shape that it could cause issues with the stability of the rear suspension, not to mention the thought that if it moves enough to bend the bracket itself that it could possibly cause issues with the stock shock mount and maybe even contribute to it ripping from the frame if the factory guy was having a bad day that day keeping him from doing a grade A inspection of those weld joints. If you think about it there is alot of rear twisting pressure to the stock mount with this kit installed that a bad weld could rip quite easily. I just thought I would pass along my findings to you folks cause I am concerned with your saftey as well as my own in matters of bike mods that we do.
Sorry to hear about your situation. I have inspected my brackets many times since installing them last year. I had heard of several failures with the White Brothers lowering kit so I paid close attention to mine. I do not get the brake chattering or any twisting feeling with my bike. The brackets look just like they did when I installed them and I (either solo or two up) have never bottomed out. I wish I could help you here but it looks like you're just gonna have to get use to the taller bike.
Boy Ed, it seems like you've went through alot of trouble to make it work, I hope I don't have issue's like you did riding two up, any way thanks for the advice.

LIke I told ya Im 6'4 (290) & wife is around 140 & we havent bottomed out at all & getting no weird feeling or bent brackets, just went out & pulled the bags & double checked, I have around 1k miles on the solow kit now. Sorry to hear about your troubles.
i just ordered the inch and a quarter solow kit for my ultra. however, something seems weird. it appears that the website the store is using sends him an email confirmation (same as it does to the buyer) so that he can fulfill the order. unfortunately, it seems like my order was rejected by his email server - came back as undelivered. I tried emailing him personally, and my email cambe back too - his mailbox is full. WTF? i guess i'm gonna try to call him today to see if i get a better response the old-fashioned way.
the other thing i don't understand, is that his kits differ in price from the EG to the street glide and ultra.... it's the same bike, no?
