Default Center Stand problem??

I've read all the threads about the various after market center stands. I'd like to get one, but a problem I can see is, once the center stand is installed into the "bowtie channel" under the frame, you won't be able to use a floor lift jack. I use the Sears red jack. I had to remove the rubber piece on the rear arm of the jack and put a piece of narrower plywood in it's place in order for the arm to slip into the bowtieso the jack lifts the bike level and securely. With the center stand bolted in there the jack won't slide in. Any experiences with this?

It's not that hard to take the center stand off when you need to use the lift. It takes maybe 10 minutes to pull the center stand. The benefits of a center stand far out weight the negatives.

With the center stand I find you don't need to lift it with jack [but you still can].

I have a center stand, no problem with the lift. Put the bike on the center stand, slide the jack under the bike so just the edge of the jack catches the front of the "bowtie" and jack her on up. Seems to real balanced in that position too.

Would it throw the bike off balance on thelift if you put the bike on the center stand and then slipped the lift-jack under it straddeling the center stand?

I would think this is preferential to having the bike on the side stand and lifting it with the center stand up.

Then again maybe I read you question wrong.

Put it on the center stand first. Makes it much easier to lift up straight without having to straddle the bike. I'll send you some pics.
