Confused to say the least. I was told by the stealer that the electronic throttle only allows 80% of throttle until somewhere in the 3000 RPM range and this was noted on the dyno. Someone on this site said that at 2850 it would open to 100% but sure doesn't come on strong at that RPM and even 3000 for that matter. Does anyone have any info on this......whyand anyway to work aroung it? Practical experience has show that 07 vs 08 comparable bikes the 07 has the advantage !

Don't get it. Mine comes on strong at idle. Never blipped the throttle to the wall from an idle though, Why would you? It can only accelerate so fast whether you are throttle half open orwide open when accelerating from stop.
i have heard this too but had 07 night train and now have 08 e/g classic and i cannot tell the difference. maybe it is like a stereo. at my age i cannot really tell diff between a bose and a good "regular" stereo. but i do not turn them up to "10" anymore either. mine accelerates great (quicker than i need to go) but i have added sert, hi-flow, and pipes. even before that when stock it seemed to run just fine...ride safe
What? Do you own or have you ridden the 08's? I love the new throttle set up, no slack in cables just instant response. Nocables hanging out either! I guess if you were racing the bike you may notice something, but I think this is just horse hockey.

I don't plan on doing any stage 1,2,3 or anything on mine either. I must have gotten a freek, 'cause it has excellent throttle response, excellent acceleration, can go 100 mph anytime you want.../I even like the exhaust note from the rear of the bike and once youhop on it, the exhaust isn't an issue, then the CB/Stereo is important to me. Still can hearthe motorif I get on it at a stop light, but, hey, I am real happy with what I have purchasedfrom Harley Davidson. I just think they should have included the $40 hand air pump and $23 belt tension gauge with the purchase. (you guys that think you can buy a air pump for $8 at the pedal bike shop that has as many features on it as theHD has, forget it!)
Thanks for the replys. This is an 08 RK 103. Rode it for a 1000 miles before building so understand what you saying about the throttle response as far aswhen you twist it ect. I guess what is saying isthe machanical aspect of the throttle is great its the programming that sucks. All I want is for the motorto operate at it full potential. That missing 20% just might get you out of a tight spot some day. So againdoes anyone know atwhat RPMwe getWOT on and 08?
