Anybody out there have any info on all the chassis stiffners now available. I hear about this high speed wobble and head shake at high speed in sweeper turns ? I see some triangleulated gadgets for the front motormount area and some deal for the rear swing arm. Anyone have any of these issues with shake or unstable front end. I have an 07 ultra
I haven't had any issues yet. However I see all these items on the market and was wondering if any of you have had the issues these things claim to fix.We roll along interstae @ 80 or so sometimes. Just asking so I don't get any suprises.. I know the bike is fine in a straight line @ speed, feels comfortable. We live in florida and I have a straigt as an arrow strech about5 miles long and I can run 95 wide open as long as I dare hold it wide open. The only way this bike would run 100mphis if you dropped it from an airplane.Bike is bone stock 07 Ultra except for SE touring mufflers. And ...yes 95 is plenty fast, if I wanted to go fast I would have bought soprt bike..
I installed the Ride Str8 and imho it firms up the ride esp. on those curves. This unit installs on the rear three bolts on the pan and doesn't cover it so it doesn't affect any over-heating issues.
We have plenty of one lane back roads that make you beg for a straight road. We actually have some small hills in our area (Zephyrhills ). Plan on heading out to watch some nascar races this year and will be going to a few other states. Not sure of many threads on this site related to this high speed wobble, but I have been told of some weird chassis quirks. Even a few magazines have done some blurbs about these chassis fixes.Just wanted to know if anyone had experienced it yet

Not to rock the boat but I have a 2007 FLHX and mine has no trouble breaking into the triple digits 110or 115 and I'm a big boy 300+. Not my normalcruising speedbut you have to see. Is not breaking 100 the normfor the rest of you guys? Did I just get lucky?
I believe most of those devices were developed out of problems that were experienced on models from the 2000-2003 model years. Those models had a weaker swingarm. Models after 2003 have a beefier swingarm and the handling was substantially improved. If I were you I wouldn't be trying to fix a problemthat I have'nt even felt in the type of riding you normally do. Remeber the old addage "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
Zoomie67 is right about the suspension upgrades in newer models, but there is still some looseness in high-speed sweepers that gives a waggling sensation. I installed the RideStr8 and it cured this problem. I've never had any issues with the steering head in 11 years of riding FLH's, and never had a hint of wobble or other untoward behavior originating from the front.
