Does the mounting bracket screw and nut go into the hole where the cruise control cable was?

If so the nut will fit there because of the frame.

PLEASE HELP.

Yes, that's where the mounting bolt goes. It's a real bitch to hold that nut still while you tighten it... Maybe someone has another suggestion, but that's how I did mine... Good Luck.

I am wondering if the hole was drilled to close to the frame because the nut will not fit over the hole. The frame is in the way.

There is a self tapping screw in the hardware bag, use it instead of the bolt and nut. Some frames you have to open the hole up slightly to get the self tapper started but once you thread the frame with install the bracket. Much easier than the bolt and nut!

along with putting a rag in the hole, so when you drop the nut it doesn't take a 1/2 hour finding it.
