When I do it again, which may be a looong time from now, I'd do:
1) PCIII instead if SERT
2) Rineharts instead of SE slip-ons
3) Street Glide instead of Road King

Thank you for the responses, I have a good list to go to the dealership with on Sat.

Still unsure which way to go on the exhaust, I want good tone, nice rumble, load but not drag pipe loud, If I go true duals I have to put everything back on to go through the inspection.
Choice so far Rush slip - on's 2" baffles, and SE air breather is it really going to do any good if I do not put on true duals?

Thanks

You pretty much got everything covered, but I did not see the chrome fork lowers. They make a big difference in the appearance.

1. SEAT for comfort for you and the passenger

And if you want engine and exhaust mods do it before you pick it up, as you will not want to leave it, as once you ride it, you will have become a hard corebiker junky. Trustus, as we know! Welcome to our world!

What are your recommendations for the best / or most needed accessories?
You'll love that RK.

1. Cruise Control (if not an FLHRC)
2. True duals will hurt performance. Consider this: http://fuelmotousa.com/rush_fuelmoto (PCIII, AC, Rush slip-ons with custom baffles)
3. Fork-mounted air deflectors (HD). Greatly reduces wind turbulence coming up under the windshield, reducing noise and buffeting.
4. Oil cooler (HD or Jagg 10-row)
5. Kuryakyn Iso-grips
6. Mustang or Corbin seat with backrest

+1 all great ideas. I'm adding those grips to mine shortly, can't wait to get the factory ones on my workbench LOL

Sandking, if the search feature was working, that's the place to go and catch up on some of this stuff, but since it's been down.
Some people have different views but if ya open the mufflers, yes you open up the air cleaner (SE), and if ya open up the air cleaner, you need to change your fuel/air ratio with a tuner like (SE). I'm not a fan of a one time download instead of the tuner.
Just curious, why do you want duals? I have never wanted duals before, myself. I think you lose a bit of low end torque with them, which is why I usually do a stage one on bikes, to pick up a few hp, raise the low torqure curve, and this bike, cool it down a bit. The Rush mufflers will give yougood volumewithout going to duals, I think, if that's why you looking at them.
Good luck and enjoy the new ride!

Excellent ideas:
Chuck1; answer your question, I was thinking of going with duals, because I would like to get the best loud rumble, cool the engine more, but not lose low end torque, possibly pick up a few HP or even MPG.
My type of riding is going to be 50% or more two up and sometimes hot and sticky.
Also, what is the Stage 1 you and others refer to? Pardon the lack of knowledge, New to HD, and the lingo.

Thanks, i will need the good luck, I know where I want to be but Harley fiancing % is alittle high for me. 11%
There will be a way for this Road King to mine, 2007 R K or the 2008 R K, 105 annv.

Dyno tunethe top - this should be part of your setup with your pipes, air, etc. especially for an 08! I had the 08 SERT which now I read they don't really make and have disonctinued them, I wonder if I can get my $$$$$ back I had to get the bike Dyno'd to get it to run right. Plan on that right off the top. Everything else looks really good. Nice. Good job and good luck.
