Does anyone have or know were to get the wiring diagram for the rear spoiler tail light, and for the install of the smart alarm for an 07, Touring, The instructions that came with both are less than good instuctions. PLease Help!!!
The Instruction Sheet (I-Sheet) that H-D supplies with their parts should be adequate. If you needed more extensive electrical information then you will need the H-D Electrical Diagnostics manual.
Part # 99497-07 (for 2007 tourers)
for any other year models just change the -07 to -06, -05, -08 and so on, the first 5 digits will remain the same.
FirstClass, not sure what your concerns are about the spoiler/LED. The blue wire is the run light; the red/yellow stripe wire is the brake light; and, black is the ground.
If you plan on doing much DIY on your bike, do yourself a favor and buy the HD Service Manual for your bike as many, many HD accessory instructions refer to the SM for specific installation procedures, as does the one for the spoiler/LED when it refers to assembling the Deutsch connector. Of course, you can pass on purchasing the SM and post questions here and accept the delay in getting a response or inaccurate information from well-meaning HDF members.
Incidentally, if your TP already has lights, you can remove the TP liner and metal bottom plate and splice the spoiler/LED wiring to the TP wiring rather than running the spoiler/LED wiring to the P&A Accessory connector under the seat as the instructions direct--that's how I wired my spoiler/LED.
