Default Luggage Question

I am in need of a good touring bag that won't break the bank. I ordered an Ameritex sissy bar bag online butwhen I got it, it was much smaller than it looked in the picture so it's going back. I needone big enough to pack the OL's stuff plus a couple of things for me. It's like trying to fit 10 lbs of sh*t into a 5 lb bag. Do you guys have any recommendations for a good bag bigenough to hold a weekend's worth of stuff for two people?

I have a T-Bag Expandable.. goes from 1.5 to 2.5 cu ft..( I think that's the specs..) holds a hell of alot... slides over the sissy bar back rest..
Used it when I had the Sporty for our local MS Bicycle Tour 2 day event.. ( I am the sweep rider..)
Held 2 days worth of clothes..plus my small sleeping bag & pillow..rest of my stuff went in the bags..

The solution is not to find a bag big enough for OL's stuff. The solution is to find an OL that requires less stuff! My ULTRA could not hold enough stuff to take the OL around the block. Dumped that OL and found one that was a little lower maintenance. The FXD with small saddlebags is just fine for the two of us to go on a 10 day trip with camping gear strapped to the sissy bar. We hauled all we needed from Chicago to Sturgis and back and never heard a single complaint.

I know what you mean about hauling all the OLs stuff. Thats why a trailer is in the works. That may not even be enough

I haven't bought it yet, but this seems to be a pretty good setup.

http://www.mmccleather.com/catalog/a...bags/index.asp

It is cheap, it is leather, and it is made by Milwaukee. I imagine it is pretty good.
I am going to use it as extra extra space that will ride in front of my tourpak and behind my rider's backrest.

That ought to leave room for my little electric cooler in the tourpak.

My LeSabre can't haul the crap my X needed for 3 hour visit to the grandkid's house. It's easier to change traveling companions the to try to accomodate a high-maintenance spouce!

The T-bags are all highly recommended. Go to the bike shows/swap meets. Nothing beats "trying it on" And, ditto for the OL's packing. Bring the oldest socks, panties, etc. and 'tro em out when done. If there's a cig lighter-powered blow dryer or butane curling iron? 'Tro it out! If the soiled garments are worth keeping, mail it to your house.

I just ordered this one from Dowco:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...ggage-Set.aspx

I haven't got it yet bur according to the dimensions seems fairly big. It was by far the best deal I have found in the net and you can use both pieces together or seperately.
