Default Black Axle Nut Covers

I'm looking for some black front axle nut covers. I thought I had read about some onthe forum somewhere before, but I can't get the search option to work. Does anybody know where I might get some other than having some chrome onespowder coated?

I went through the same thing. Ended up powder coating some chrome ones. I couldn't find anything already sold in black. The only other option I can think of is buying that Yaffe flush axle. It comes with a mostly black cap.

I wanted some axle nut caps to go with my recently powdercoated front forks, but I couln't find anybody that sold already black ones and I couldn't see spending the money for chrome ones just have them stripped and powdercoated. So while working at HD one day I took a set out of the package and measure the ID, OD and height. Armed with that info I went to Home Depot and picked up two metal pipe caps with the same measurements and a few set screws for a whopping $4.05. I then came home and ground the nubs and whatnot off the caps and sanded them smooth. Then I drilled and tapped a hole for the set screw, primed the caps and then painted with high gloss black engine paint because of its good adhesion qualities. Voila! The finished product looks great. One could also paint their caps color matched to their scoots!

I just went with a flush mount axel and a bad as hell fork cap. I think the little bit of chrome is nicly set off with the black. I am also an anti-chrome lover so I plan on removing all but a few hints of chrome from my bike as time progresses
