Default Saddle bag mount question.

Are the brackets that hold the spring clips that the saddle bag pins mount to longer, as in firther from the bike, on a Road King than they are on say an electra glide or a street glide? The bags on both of these bikes seem closer to the fender than the painted bags I just hung on my FLHRS. Anyone own an E-glide or Streetglide AND a road king?

Can't help you with this one Kevin. My understanding was that the hard bags would not fit with the brackets on the leather bags. Did you use the same spring clips and did the holes match up on the bags?

THEY ARE ADJUSTABLE AND SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT ON THE LEATHER BAG BIKES.

Default RE: Saddle bag mount question.

I got the bags on with one small adjustment, err well a couple of small adjustments. For one I removed the rear rubber bumper from the bottom of each hard bag. I then took a dremel tool and made the groove in it quite a bit deeper. I also had to adjust the postition of the spring clip brackets. I also had to loosen the rear bag support mounting points and push down a little to get the rear holes to align. With the rubbers off the rear of each bag they fit like a glove! The reason I asked this question was because my painted bags look farther from the fender bracket etc than the ones on Eglides and Street glides at the dealer.
