Thanks for the quick response and the info. What has to come off the bike to change these ? I just picked up my 08 Ultra yesterday and have not messed with the faring yet.
does your bike have ABS? Did the stock brake line work with these bars? I wonder if these will work on my RKC?
JonnyD, I thought that you had talked with your dealer and they could get a set of bars that fit? I saw another post referencing the installation of Road King Police Bars, but haven't actually heard or saw any one that installed them.
I like many would like to do, and probably can do the mod that DAWG has done, but would feel more comfortable with a set up that I do not need to mod.
How difficult was it to change the bars ? I assume these are on an 08 ultra ?
Wasn't difficult and yes it's on my 08 Ultra

You need to take the outer fairing cap off and pull the radio. You also need to pull the ignition and take off the lower inner fairing cap under the ignition. This will give you full access to the bolts to change out the bars.

I did, about the Heritage bars from a police bike. But after sitting on one I really don't care for the look of the bars. They have to lean back too far just to get the pullback and it looked odd.
I just had dealer put 16" Buffalo Bars on my 08 Road Glide with ABS. Took several hours to notch bars for fly by wire and expand or cut holes for internal wiring. Keep in mind you have to use grips made by Harley (at this time) to work with fly by wire. I just read in magazine that Cyclesmiths is offering bars for 08 Bagger. www.cyclesmiths.com.

Kuryakyn offers their ISO grips for the 08's and several of us have adapted grips for the 08's. I adapted a universal set of ISO grips several months before Kury came out with them.
