Rear floorboard cover idea
I got a couple plates off an old car from a friend, just about the right thickness. (Don't tell the county)

Used my template in the good part of the plate and marked it out with a sharpie.

Used tin snips real careful and cut them out. I then used a sander around the edges to smooth it up. Had some polish I had and polished it up.
TIP: I leard from a friend if you use a small square orbital sander and clamp a wash rag on it instead of sand paper, it works excellent for polishing flat serfaces!

I then set it up on the board to see what it looked like!

I want to do a little more polishingbefore Iattach the double sided tape to the back. Then it should be ready for a permanent placement. I may eventually put a HD skully emblem on it down the road??

You oughta be proud of em.
Do they match the tranny cover it appears you have? That would be the thing I would want them to match to make the floor board covers an integral part of the rest of thebike.
If you end up not liking them... The Chrome MOCO ones I have in the sig picture are about to be replaced with ones that match my front fender skirt and seat from MOCO. The dealership installed the wrong ones and I signed for them... My own fault and I am getting ready to replace them and put on the Visor style light covers with LED turn signals... when that happens, the ones in my sig will be ready to sell. PM me if you are interested. I don't need much, just shipping and a little bit more so it is not a total loss on my part.
Sorry to sabatage the thread. They really do look good. Hope you get what you want from them. Using the back of license plate was a great idea.
looks good dude, wouldn't of thought of a license plate, i got some buffing wheels we could try and shine them up some more
Ya they look pretty good. I added some double sided tape but haven't installed them yet. I don't want them too shiny like Brent said, want them to match!
2fer, yes snowed and freezing rain today. Man, just when you think you might be able to get out around the block, more snow!
Thanks to everyone, very nice comments! Jesse James ain't got $h!t on me, lol. No, really it was a fun time and I made it up as I went! I really wanted covers but no funds available.
hardav23, the template was the hardest part I thought.. Think I will post it in the DIY section.
