Default 8" inch windshield vs. 9" inch windshield

From those who've tried different height windshields, is there a significant difference between 8" vs. 9" windshields? I know I'm going to go taller than stock, but not sure how much taller to go.

Thx

I just put ona 9.5 dark grey tintfrom Clearveiw with a recurve on my 06 Ultra. I am 6.1" and this sheild kicks the wind up and over my head to the point that you can wear a ball cap without fear of it flying off. I had about a 4 week wait but it was well worth it. The sheild is very high quality and looks great.

I guess I didnt fully answer your question. Yes I found a big difference as the 8" hit me square in the forehead with alot of wind buffeting as well.

First off, how tall are you? I've seen street glides with 9" shields. You should be looking over them. Usually the windshield should be about chin level, maybe another inch higher. Here's a pick of my FLHT with a 6.5". I'm 5' 8" and it's about 1.5" shorter than I want it to be.

It all depends on your height when seated on the bike. I've had a 4", 8", and now a 9".............and for me the 9" is perfect.

You want the top of the windshield to be 2" below your line of sight..............you don't want to look thru a windshield.

I'm 5'10" and got an 8 incher. If I had to do it again I would go for a 10 inch.

For clarification - I'm 6'4 and just put on the Corbin Solo Classic. Am considering either a 9" Fast Aire or perhaps a recurve...

I,m 5'8 with a 31" inseamand have the Mustang wide touring solo seat. I bought the fastaire 8" Shield and find it purfect for my height. I see about 2-3 inches over the top and the wind goes above my head.

I'm 6'4" and have an 8"w/recurve, shield is approx chin height and the wind 'tickles' the top of my head; mine is black so I definetly need to look over it!

Default Where to purchase windshield

I'm new to the "Bagger" family and I am currently looking for a tinted shorter windshield. Any reccomendations on a good windshield MFG other than the stuff I've found on Ebay? (Only becauseI did'nt know were to look!) I'm 5'7 looking at possibly a 9' shield. I've noticed a few post's indicating a "curve" added to the windshield which sounds like what I would lean towards. Well.... any help would be greatly appreciated!
