do any of you guys out there have any information or pictures of what a hooker tuned flow muffler looks like(the baffle that is).or the actual end(what it looks like close up)...the reason i'm asking,is i've got a set of vance and hines big radius pipes,i'd like to modify the stock baffles a bit,to lower the noise a bit....i've heard the hooker tuned flow mufflers via the internet, and like the deep rumble they create....i'm sure that their method is patented, but would like to get these big radius pipes toned down a bit...any suggestions would be great....thanks in advance
Friend, I just installed Hooker Troublemakers on my Sportster......Hooker calls them 'tuned flow'....Their baffles are a joke.....they are large diameter straight thru style anddo VERY little to attenuate noise. What they do is only reduce the highest frequencies...What's left is extremely loud....Loud to the point of pain for the rider at wide open throttle.....That's exactly what I wanted for my Sporty, but it doesn't sound like what you are after.
The big radius pipes suffer from same....But at least the Hookers develop more power and restore low end torque when compared to the big rads.
actually i wasn't planning on installing them, just was looking for ideas as to how i may be able to modify my stock big radius baffles to tune down the sound a bit,and get rid of that 'high pitch' as you describe it......thanks
not sure why you would want to mimic the hooker tuned flow, got rid of mine because they were too loud in any setting and had a huge dip in the torque curve that was fixed by a V&H 2-1...
