The front mounts for both kits are the same. You really only need the rear portion of the 53804 kit which mounts further back on the fender rail to support the rear of the tour pak mounting bracket. If you look at the parts of both kits laid out you'll see what I mean.
Sorry but the front mounts are not the same. Front mount for the sissy bar or solo tour pac mount have a notch for the shock cut out in them. Also the the inside diameters differ. The inside diameter of the front mount is a larger diameter than the back mount. Ask me how I know.........................
I am looking at doing the same thing with my 08 RKC. How did you make out with this? Did both Docking Hardare kits install and how does the setup work for you going between the Detachable Sissy bar and the Two up Tour pak?
Go to HD parts, Tell them what you are wanting to do, they have a kit that comes with both front and back mounts for the struts and it comes with a quick release bracket to mount the tour pack on.
They even have a catalog with the parts in it.
Got both of them on my standard
There is a locking kit you can buy. Basically it replaces one of the clamps and and has a push button lock. It comes with a special barrel key to unlock it.
Here's a pic of both of the detachable docking kits installed. As others have said, you will need the forward points for the sissy bar/backrest, and the rear points for the Tour-Pak.
