Ok.... I have had nothing but the Rinehardts on the scoot and yesterday I installed the FatCat with quiet baffels..... Well it is not the TD! It is a hell of a lot quieter (judgement still out); It is nice having the torue down low and this thing revs real quick. I havent done much of a ride just a little test ride last night. A few things that I had to do/try.
The 2x4 under the tires is a great suggestion.... Only lost a few drops of tranny fluid... Thanks for the suggestion. When I first installed it I had a small leak where the pipe and collector met.... Talked to Phil and he said that some had to add a small slit to the existing slits in the collector... Well i pulled the dremel out add the small cut of wheel, reinstalled and WHAM fixed. When I first installed it I broke that stupid 6mm bolt to the clamp... Home Depot here I come... got a new one and away I went.... The Home Depot bolt was a better grade then what was supplied and it worked great... or atleast I didnt snap that one.
I'll give further judgement as I increase my rides and I will follow up.....
I do miss the bark of the rinehardts cause cages next to me new I was there... As for the single pipe..... well...... time will tell if it grows on me.
Nothing sounds quite as good as those Rineharts! I pulled mine because I didn't like the way they fit around the primary and I was pissed that my wife kept burning her shoe on the left side pipe.. Went to a V&H Propipe(which I liked on my Fatboy). Still trying to get used to the thing on my Ultra. Sound isn't there, look isn't there... Debating going back to the stock headpipes and slip-ons. We shall see I guess.
John,
I bet if you decide its too quiet, someone will trade ya a STD baffle for the quiet one. I always preferred the sound of the STD baffle on a fatcat.
So.... How's flame thrower (or was it sparkled)?
Just wait til the dtt tunes it in.... You'll forget all b
about the rineharts.
Try the Rinehart 2 into 1. I had Rinehart Duals for a while and recently changed over to their 2 to 1 and couldn't be happier. Great sound, more torque, good look.
Spike, as I posted earlier I am looking for a quiet baffle due to hearing damage from my past military experience (vulcans, lots of boom boom). Currently have a std baffle and looking to change to a quiet because I love this pipes performance and sound, will have to give up some sound byut want to try the quiet baffle before I switch the pipe.We could trade and if you dont like it we qould trade back and I'll get the quiet baffle from Bart.
Welcome to the world of two into ones. I had the RH TDs when I did my 103 build and they were just too loud. Now I have the Boarzilla, and even with the 120, it is still not as loud as the Rineharts were.
Well... One thing that pissed me off about the TD was the loss of the low end torque.... Well coming home from lunch today there is plenty there.... Another thing is now I need to purchase a new primary housing as the TD wore a mark into it..... Damn......
Spike:Man, you have gone over to the darkside; but so has Kevin (pirateeye) who's using the Rinehart 2-into-1 with his HQ 113,and the TD's sit in his basement.[:@] He even talks about how "nobody looks at a bike from the kickstand side," "how nice the pipes look from the right hand side of the bike," and, "you don't really notice unless you look at the bike from the rear." HaHa.
