I just replaced my front brakes (stock)with floating discs brakes. I was wondering can the discs be polished to reflect a more shiny finish? Is it a waste of time and money because once you use the brakes they lose the shine? Thanks.
The answer is yes and also no. If you use OEM or other types of pads, the answer is YES, [QUOTE]because once you use the brakes they lose the shine?[QUOTE]
[QUOTE]I was wondering can the discs be polished to reflect a more shiny finish? Is it a waste of time and money[QUOTE] This answer is no if you use any Lyndall (Z+ or Gold Pad). They do not hurt your rotors and if you start out with polished rotors, you end up with the same. This is subjective to you never go metal to metal, of course.
I polished my rotors and the stock pads created a scuffed area where the pads contact the rotors. I later installed the Z Pads & they are actually re-polishing that area! Other benefits; no corrosive brake dust, no squealing, smoother feel & better stopping.
