Default LED Tail lights

Can anyone tell me what is involved in changing my tail light and rear turn signals on my 1999 RK to led lights.I have seen them on other bikes and was impressed with the brightness. Also, my rear turn lights function as running lights. Will I still be able to use them?

Nothing to it except the expense. Take out the old bulbs and twist in the new. I did them on my 2000 Road King, and 03 Road Glide. Yesterday put them on my new 08 Road Glide. I used the Kuryakin setup. The Panacea version on the 03 Road Glide but my friends didn't like to follow, said it is confusing. Also it gave me a few problems with the security system but Kuryakin has a fix for that now too. No security system on the 08, I never used it. On the 08 I went with the led directionals front and rear and tail light. Added the Kuryakin run turn controller on the rear which gives turns the directionals into additional tail lights when not signalling a turn. You didn't say if you have the Harley Run Turn or another brand....I'm not sure if other brands work with Kuryakin but they are real good about answering questions if you go to their web site and email them. I wrote them to see if they'd fit the 08 because theywere not listed as such in catalogs.

What he said. All it takes is $$$$!!!

Unplug the old, plug in the new. Nothing hard about it at all. Just get a load equalizer.

This is what I used, LEDs

Along with Biketronics Tailbones set up. Since then I had a few LEDs burn out in one of the tail lights and put in some even brighter bulbs

I went with the full Panacea set-up front and rear. I like the look and you get some extra lighting to be noticed. And I like the clean look when there off.

I got a bright brake/taillight from these folks. Seems to look and work good.

I love my Panacea especially the fact you can program it to flash 3 times before turning solid on when you hit your brakes, from looking in the mirror it has helped get someones attention.

The Kuryakan website has a pretty detail set of instructions for the Panacea set-up. Put the rear turn and brake system on my '97 Heritage a year or so ago. Easy install ... really bright.
