you say new, if it is like the old one it is not accurate.
Go to Wallys World ( not walmart) the have a temp kit cheaper tha HD and easier to install. it replaces the air temp gage. Look in the DYI there are pics.
I'd like to get the temp dipstick too, but I've had friends report that they are an "easy-steal" item (evidently from much experience). I know no one on here would do that, but as it happens, those that steal them aren't nice enough to replace it with the stock item and that makes the ride home difficult...

LOL, I bet that would make the ride home somewhat "harder".
IMHO the Harley LCD dipstick is an overpriced piece of garbage. I say that after having 3 or 4 of them. One is lucky if he gets a year's worth of service. At least that's my experience with them.
