About 4 years ago I built a multiple show winning custom chopper.
I had loaned it to the shop that did the chrome work and built the custom tank to display at the show in New Orleans.
I received a call one morning that my bike, as well as the owners and the owners girlfriends bikes...had been stolen.
I believe the story to be true as I trust the owner of the chrome shop...not to mention that Dave Perewitz had a bike stolen there, too.
Perewitz even listed his bike on his website witha rewardoffered.
I had insurance on the bike for full value. We eventually settled the deal and I didn't get stroked.
Anyway, long story short...
Moderator...I'm sure this isn't the category you'd like to see this thread in but I have no idea where to list it.
My question is, to the Moderator...
Would it be possible to get a "Stolen Bikes" board going?
A place where people could post pics and any info they can give. I know the chances of a stolen bike being recovered are slim but in the case of my custom chopper with it being as unique as it was...you just never know.
Thanks Mod...and sorry for posting the request here if it's the wrong area.
Great Idea who knows this may lead to other forum events also....Just think we could have a HDForums picnic
ifthey catch one of the B@stard's and they could be the guest of honor at the picnic!!
I think its a great idea too, but....... We all know that by the time the bike is reported stolen, and posted here, It will already have been striped, and parts sold. And that really sucks. But I guess ya never know. If we get one bike back, it would be worth it.
