Default Ape Hangers

The search function will not work and I am wanting to get some ape hangers for my 07 road king classic. Anyone have any ideas or pics they can share with me. Or possibly head me to the right thread. Thanks

Rebelroy;

Find ANYONE who has ape hangers before you buy and politly ask to sit on their bike and trythem first. For example, i'm 5'8 and bought 16" after i tried them they felt comfortable at the time (have not put them on yet because iraq deployment), but now I'm thinking I should have went with14". I am going to have the 16" put on when I return to give them a fair shot, but damn they look tall on some of these bikes. I currently have heratige bars on but on long rides I get shoulder problems because of leaning forward.

I have a '05 rk custom. I went with 18" apes from www.lachoppers.com . The bars are great, and very comfortable. I am 6'1", and weigh 300 pounds. With me, and the stock seat, my hands are right at my shoulder height. I would not recommend going above your shoulders, as your hands will most likely get numb on longer rides. I have no issues, at all with my bars. And, the pain I would get between my shoulder blades, while riding, is gone. Handling is a non factor, as well. I actually find it easier to steer at slower speeds, than I could before. One lane u turns are not a problem, anymore... Keep in mind, if you go to 18", or higher, you may have fitment issues with the shield. At first, my bars were in line with the forks, and the shield fit, but, when I push the bars more forward (like in my sig pic), it will not. I don't use the shield much, except during the winter, so it isn't a big deal for me. If I want the shield on, I just pull the bars back. If you want some more pics of my rk custom, let me know through PM. I have some from all angles, with and without the shield...

Here is my 07 with 16's. I agree with Papa Travis and all he said. My bars are a pushed forward a little. IMO, this was the best mod I've done.
