I was wondering if there's an online pdf file for the audio manual... my bass/treble adjustment doesn't work and was wondering if I can reset the damn thing or something. I am not going to take it to the dealer with my freshly painted inner fairing, NO WAY. Anyone know if they can be reset or something?
Did you recently internally wire the bars? When i did mine i had a few wires reversed andi couldnt get the bass and treble to work. it took me a while to figure it out. Just offering suggestions. Good luck
No, not at all. It used to work fine. then one day it just stopped working. The volume works fine, but I just can't go into 'setup mode'... I don't get it. It's brand flipping new.
Does the bass treble control work via the buttons on the radio, but not using the hand controls, or not at all? If this is the case, it will be a loose wire in the main radio connector.......my bet anyways
Even if the radio has to come out--it unbolts and pulls out from the outer fairing side-and there is rubber "boots" around it so your inner shouldnt get scratched.
You can always trypulling your Maxi fuse for a half hour to see if the radio resets......
Turn ign on and make sure radio is on FM, turn ign off wait 10 secs. Hold down buttons 1 & 2 on radio face, turn ign on wait until diagnostic screen comes up and release 1 & 2. Push in on Audio (left side) switch and hold, screen should change to HB AUDIO OK, Release. Now push Audio switch up and hold, screen should change to HB AUDIO UP OK, release. Now push it down and hold, screen should change to HB AUDIO DOWN OK. Do the same for the MODE (right side) switch. If you dont get any reaction from pushing switch in, up , or down them you have a problem with the wireing from the Handle bar control to the radio harness some place. Most likely under the clutchor master clamp. You cannot to my knowledge control the audio functions from the head unit. If all the switches react like they are suposed to, shut theign off wait 10 seconds and reenter diag mode, button 1 is to reset all radio functions to default, push it turn ign off, wait 10 seconds turn ign on, test audio switch, does it work now? If not I cant help any further without the bike in front of me!
If hogdocs suggestion does not work it is the brown and black striped wire on the left control. When you put everything back the connection could have been disrupted. I know you did not change bars, but these molax connectors are not as good as Deutch connectors IMO.
I had the same issue with mine accept the volume control would not work either, took it to the dealer they did a reset and it still would not work, was told a new radio was needed. I was leaving town so did not Order a new one at that time. Went home, unplugged radio while changing out handle bars, after plugging radio back in it worked fine.
I like the Idea PEZ has, a lot easier to pull the maxi fuse than the radio.
