Have a '08 ultra classic, the stockseat sucks. I would like to beAT LEAST1" back or more, and I like a smooth seat were your butt goes. The height ok. Had a corbin dual touring on roadking, LOVED IT!! But I was on there site and the "new" ones for '08's look nothing like my RK one? They look like my stock h-d seat. E-mailed MMC and he e-mailed he can't make any changes to my stock to make like my old corbin. So I need you guys help, don't want to just order one cause its yours when you get it whether you like it or not. Looking at Tallboy sundowner deep pocket from harley, at least it says it moves rider back a inch on description. THANKS, Mark
I love my sundowner from HD. I don't think I'm any further back, but there's a little extra support at the lower back area and my female counterpart loves the extra wide cushion in the rear. The Street Glide stock seat is awesome for me, but it is seriously lacking for the passenger. Hope this helps!
I hear ya Mark, I just saw on the Mustang site that they have seats now for 08 Ultras. I also asked my local HD dealer to stock a Tall-boy seat so I can at least look at it. I am thinking about a 08 RoadKing Seat, or 08 Roadglide seat, I think they may fit, not sure, and they do sit ya back a little farther, but the passanger seat is smaller. I checked Mean Cycles site and they say 3-4 weeks turn around. I need another seat if I have to wait that long.
Instead of buying a new seat, you might want to contact Allen (BadX on the forum). He does mods to seats, and I am sure he is doing '08 seats, now. Check him out at www.meancitycycles.com . Should be cheaper than buying a new seat...
It's so hard to recommend seats to someone cuz what's "comfortable" for one person is a torture contraption to someone else. Obviously Corbin and Mustang are the biggest of the major makers. I too really like the Corbin - had them on two different bikes now and they just fit me like a glove. But others find the Corbin a miserable seat, so depends on the individual.
The Dual Touring Corbin does set me back a bit and lower which I like.
Thanks for advice, going to try to live with this stock seat till myrtle beach. All seat manuf. there. Get to see all at one time. Hate to order one and not what i want. Tried mean city cycles, e-mailed him and he said couldn't do what i wanted done. Thanks guys, mark
