As you click into HDF and as you go down the forum categories one would have to believe that the "Touring" section has the most popular models. With:33,927 topics and 443,337 posts. Therefore I have to believe that us old farts and our Geezer Glides are taking over. Remember Baggers Rule.
Hey, I'm only 32, not quite old geezer yet! I just bought a new 08 Street glide! Love it! A year ago I would have thought you were crazy if you said I was gonna fall in love with a bagger,, yet here I am.. Happy as a pig in chit! Baggers rule!
Fromwhat I see on the road here in So Cal the touring models absolutley rule here. Not just amongst Harleys either, I mean of all motorcycles i see while out riding. Harleys and in particular Electra Glides and Road Kings are the most common bikes on the street of any type, even including crotch rockets.
If you ride daily and your bike is your primary transportation year around it just makes sense to have those big bags and tourpack cuz life involves shopping, carrying things to/from work, etc and you have to be able to carry things...
I'm 51, recently bought an ultra and wished I'd done it sooner or at least as soon as I got married. Trying to stack a tent, 2 sleeping bags etc... on a sissy limited necessities. The bagger is the way to go for 2 up long distance touring.
