I bought my Standard at 33, just turned 34. I agree that most people get older they are able to afford more expensive and nicer bikes and work your way up. That's whatI did! I also know that if you did this poll 15 years ago you probably have more of an older crowd. I always wanted a big cushy bike but the parts and options made them look like a "grampa bike" and I thought they were, no offence to you that have one, well, kinda ugly. The parts and options just wasn't out there. I am not surewhat changeswhen you get older, your taste, what's more important, or just get smarter... I do know that if I couldn't makemy bike look the way it does or at least the way I am wanting, I probably wouldn't have one.
Just bought my first Harley a few days before my 40th... been on Buells for years (still have a garage full) but needed something to take some long trips and haul the girlfriend around on.
Bought an 05 FLHRP that is pure Police... air seat, run flat tires...whole nine yards with 3500 miles. Did this on purpose as I'm going to build a nice custom...something a little different from most but still a great long haul mount.
