My 1st Harley was a 86 Sporty.
My second Harley was an 88 Electra Glide........I was 23 at the time and all my friends laughed at me and called me grampa.
Now I'm 46 and still ride a Geezer-Glide because IMO they are the best all around bikes out there. I have a Softail also but I'm thinking about selling it because I rarely get on it......it's just a shame to let-em sit.
In short, buy what you like if you can afford it. There is no age limit for doing what's right or comfortable for you. Who cares what all the so-called "bad-asses" think.
Be 32 this month, bought a 2013 street glide last Friday. I seriously considered a CVO break out but wanted a street glide since 2009 so stuck with that. I think I will be pleased.
