2006 FLHXI Street Glide
Anyone have one of these bikes and know anything about the new radio yet? Anything major I need to know weather it be good or bad? I just bought one and trying to decide if I want to move up from my 02 FLHTCUI or just send it on down the road.

Have one, and yes the CD player skips. The dealer is taking the unit out of the fairing this weekend, should have a new one in a week. If it skips, they will do it again. The third time, they can have the bike back. And I will take my money back. Test the hell out of the CD player pre-delivery. Otherwise the dealer may give you grief about it.....

No problems with my radio or cd player - works perfectly. As for the quality of the sound, it's a typical motorcycle system. Adequate at best. The real music comes out of the exhaust.

Yep welcome to the club, we have another member.. They put 4 CD players in my SG and none of them worked worth a crap. So they bought the bike back and I got a RKC instead. However I did have issue's with the FI as well.

You can't upgrade the 02 to the 06 radio. I was talking about moving up to the whole 06 bike vs my 02. Sorry for the confusion. And thanks to everyone else for the input.

The radio works fine on my bike even at 100 mph the CD player don't skip maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.

I too have one and have had no problem with the radio. They did a software update for the audio system on my scooter when they did the
1,000 mile service. It was suppossed to take care of issues with the audio system. I was not having any audio issues but now I am having some issues with the idle/fuel Inj. system??

I recently read in another forum that Roeders HD in Sandusky Ohio was offering an upgrade
to the new radio. two or three members had purchsed the set up and were happy with it. I just tried to locate the thread but couldn't find it. If you are thinking about upgradeing I'd give the Parts Dept at Roeders a call... what do you have to lose?
