the Clearview 17" with recurve
I have one of these. I don't recall buying one with a tint.
I had previously cut down the stock shield 2" and found it a bit low with the stock seat. The 17" Clearview was another 1" shorter again, but with the C&C solo I have now the 17" shield is just about perfect.
It wasn't that difficult to install. I just left the double-sided tape from the stocker on the ribs and used blue Loctite to secure the acorn nuts.
I'd say it performs much the same as the stocker buffet-wise, (now) but WTH, it's 3" shorter! I'd guess my C&C drops me down at least an inch, maybe closer to 2". What surprises me is how small it looks but aside from height, it's the same as the stocker dimension-wise.

When I got my Road King it came with the regular clear windshield, and a short tinted windshield. Not really sure what to do with the short tinted one.
it looks cool, but I think it would direct wind right into my face, and I would hate that.

I have the Memphis Shades 15" shield. It is Gradient Black, which basically means that it fades from clear at the top to black at the bottom. It's low enough to see over but high enough to block the wind. IMHO, perfect. Another good thing is that the replacement shields (just the lexan) use the stock HD hardware. I got mine off of eBay for about $60 brand new.

How is the sound on the quadzilla? Is it loud and clear even at highway speeds? Could you give a description of the sound and your satisfaction with the stereo aspect of it?

I have a Claer View with recurve also. Best windshield I have ever owned, it's short enough to easily see over and it is so ridged that it all but eliminates the vibrationthat makes a stock shield hard to see through.
There sight tellshow to measure yourself to get the correct shield hieght.

I took my stock windsheild from my 2004 RK completly taped it off drew out the arch and slowly cut it with the smallest blade bite I could find a little oil (avoids sticking)then buffed all the edges whalla 4 inches shorter
The cost tape, blade, 3 in 1 oil andnew buffer pad..............priceless
dont ride with it much but when I do works great

Caution if 1 attempts thismake sure you use alot of tape placed tight, prevents chips and cracking

Thanks for all this good info. Now I have added Memphis Shades into the consideration pool. Aw, too many choices, too little time.
