Just got off the phone with Easter Performance. Told them what happened and that honestly I don't want to deal with a Ness or any of their products again. So they gave me an RMA number to send it back for a full refund. Now I need to figure out what to get for a hi-flo.
Sorry to hear about your problems with the Big Sucker. I myself am sitting on the fence right now. My bike is in storage as it arrived in early December. All I got on my 08 Street Glide are Bassani reverse cone megaphone slip on mufflers. They sound pretty mean and very deep at idle. I am pretty p***d off that K&N does'nt have any thing available yet for the 08 Touring models. I was about to order a Power Commander and Big Sucker from Fuel Moto Usa, but now that I heard your story I still undecided with the air cleaner. I have heard good things about The Doherty Power Pacc system, but it is pricey. I am not sure about the Screaming Eagle air filter as it is not re-useable. Please let me know how you make out and what filter you decide to go with..
i have atually purchased one of these and have yet to install any sugestions on this before installing. like prematence or should i see if bart will take it back and get something else.
Yeah Man, according to what I read on this forum the BS was the best. Whew, glad I went with the K&N RK3909...It's pretty sturdy...only drawback is it uses the stock cover...I like it but a lot of ya don't...

Get the SE kit, send the backing plate out for chrome. While its gone maybe K&N will get off thier a$$ and get the filter out for the '08 kit. They are worse than remodelersinstead of always saying two weeks, K&N keeps saying two months! If they dont by the time the plate comes back get a K&N for the '07 -earlier and turn the studs down 1/8". Just did it for our parts mgr worked great.
I dont know how many times I've said it here, Big Suckers BREAK! I dont know how Arlen has built such a big name on crap parts. Never bought one that didnt fail somehow, will never buy one again!
Gotta tell ya, I went with SE and I'm a happy camper -very noticable - Seat of the pants - performance improvement over stock. No problems and looks great! Pricey - but you get what you pay for IMO!
great now I am scared for mine to fail. It installed correctly and I had no problems but when I was unpacking it I was thinking to myself ( this feels like a cheap piece of ****)
But I installed it and it works great for me. I guess I will run it until I have problems.
