I have had my Ultra right at or just under the 120 that the speedo reads, my zumo said 118, I would believe it first, the front end started to shake, scared the hell out of me, i brought it back down to about normal, took the next offramp, checked the front end to see why it was shaking so badly, nothing seemed wrong, I have decided that85 should be my top speed from now on.... I feel better at that speed...
What is yo top speed on yer bagger? 115 on mine the other day. Fukit. Should I buy a crotch rocket? I LOVE da speed.
If you LOVE da speed and you want a crotch rocket, be sure to invest in a funeral package and a burial plot. That is...unless you're planning to run your speed on the track where it belongs. Guess that sums up that question in a whole new light. lol
Before I had motorwork done (still breaking it in - well, more like waiting for the f-ing weather to clear) I had it at 118 and it was solid. I want new tires before I get up that high again, but I will pass that easily now
I've been 155 on my cousin's Hyabusa (which is nothing cause he's done 178!!!)
The difference if you crashedfrom 85 to 200 isn't much...you're still road pizza! Fucit [8D]
Last Saturday after leaving the Houston Areas Riders ride I hit 120 mph. I still had some throttle left but the gauge was maxed out. I think my ***** were maxed outtoo, because I didn't open it all the way.
Imo the bagger is not the bike to be looking for a high top speed. It is a great bike and I love it but it was not designed to be a race bike. I have hit 100mph on mine just to do it but don't plan to try for more. I like cruzing on it and the low end torque.
In my younger and stupider days I hit 160mph on a Suzuki 1100. Those bikes are made for it. Although the roads are generally not so put it on a track if you want to do those kinds of speeds. I knew a guy that hit a dog at 140mph and he was very fortunate to wake up 4 months later. I used to get up to 120mph everyday on my way to work on my crotch rocket. The speed was addicting but I sold it knowing my luck would run out at those speeds.
115 so far is as fast as I have decided to cruise on my SG. I used to be comfortable at 150 on my old magna, but like to stay below 80 most of the time now.
