Drove the wife on the back roads up to Cheyenne WY from here in Colorado this morning.
Stopped in at the Thunder Mountain Harley (http://www.thundermountainharley.com/).
Then walked across the parking lot to get lunch at Hooter's. (yes there is a Hooters in the parking lot!)
Then up to Wyoming and back home....2 beers in now and I'm feelin' the season is here!
Very cool, sounds like you had a great time. Glad you had a safe trip.
Been to Cheyenne before inmy Chevy pickup but not on my bike. I was heading to Steamboat Springs.I couldn't imagine what that would be like on my bike. [sm=tongue.gif]

Thundermountain is the stealer I use. I bought my first bike there, but wouldn't deal on my second one. I still buy parts from them as I get a discount. It is nice having a Hooters there. The building next door to the Hooters is a radio station. Did you notice the grass ampitheater behind the radio station? They hold concerts there in the summer time. They reserve the parking up front for bikes.
personally I wouldn't and won't even walk in Thundermountains door.
go over to Greeley the people are much better, more knowledgeable,
and will take time to help you.
instead of I 25,
take 85 into wyoming, same country and scenery, but slower paced, and
nice little towns to stop in. couple bike shops there too.
One in Eaton, something MOON customs and one in the town of Nunn (area
51 US Kustoms... Axle owns and runs it, some might remember him from Loveland).
Or go north out of Ft. Collins on 287 into laramie, I 80 to the lincoln Monument then
Wyo 210 (Happy Jack) into Cheyenne. Don't forget to stop at the Bunkhouse on the
way into Cheyenne (about 15 mile marker).
And yep colorado 14 is good, but doesn't go into Cheyenne directly.
About 60 miles of canyon run from Ft. Collins up to Walden, then at Walden can head south
towards Steamboat Springs, or north into Wyoming.
Strangers to the Area starting in Wyoming PM me I'll guide you down through it.
lots of good riding and side roads.

I've had multiple negative experiences with Greeley HD. I once asked the part number for a oil filter and they refused to give it to me. A second time I asked for them to match Thundermountain's offer to discount a $300 part by 10%. They refused. Those are just 2 of the top of my head. Several co-workers have had bad experiences. But some people have said they've had no problems. Only problem I've ever had with Thundermountain is that they weren't going to give me a deposit back on a bike. But after asking for the manager they gave me my money back.
Full Moon Customs. I've bought parts from them and they do my tire mounting and balancing for me. Good guys there.
