well i will make it short. when i ordered my bike i wanted ABS, from oct 07 the dealer called me jan 08 that he cant find ABS and that he wanted to get me in a nice ann bike with out ABS. "you dont need ABS" "20 million harleys with no ABS are doing fine" and so on. make sure you get ABS if you are buying new. well worth the wait. well it was a little wet and i was going home where this gent desides to make a u_turn in the middle of a 45 degree turn. while i was on the turn my back wheel locked pushed harder on the front ones locked those too and lost control of the bike sled and hit him on the back wheel. very little road rush on my right foot and thats it for me. bike is in the shop for the works, talking to the dealer he said that anything that get replaced, will be in chrome . he is also talking about a frame change and front end since the front forks are bent. both bags have to be replaced since the have road rush on them. will see how things shake out.
oh by the way 350 miles on her only.
It sounds like you are in good spirits. The main thing is you were not hurt bad and the motorcycle can be fixed. Hang in there and before long this will all be a distant memory.
ABS is the only reason I bought an '08. Lots of dealers talking smack because they are running out of them quick...they are only allowed to order 45% of thier touring bikes with it.
The biggest excuse I heard for not getting it was "it doesn't help in a turn"...ummmm yeah..when you stop leaned over you fall over...gravity and all[>:]
Glad to hear you made it through with only some bumps an bruises. Frame replacement? I'd say totaled too....get yourself the bike you want if it is.
