I am running the V&H True Duals Slash Cuts, Upon Rolling Hard Throttle they Rock. But at Idle are like a sleeping Kitten.
I am also interested in something a little moreidleand alsoThrottle Krackin.
Your Vance and Hines might be like ours. At idle pretty quiet. At full throttle they are pretty loud. Just not the loud I am looking for. I don't want to wake the neighborhood or anything. I just want good deep poppin volume.
I will post all my results and step by step instructions for free here on the site. I know how frustrating it is to spend all that money on pipes and be dissapointed. I'm in the same boat. It might be a little while yet till I start this project, other than the freekin snow on the ground, I'm having a hard time finding donor baffles.
An indie dealer here told me Rinehart has changed their baffles to a more mellow sound. His theory was people were complaining too much about the noise. He told me he had gotten in a couple of sets for customers and they weren't nearly as loud as ones he had ordered before. He is now making custom baffles for people who want the noise. Not sure if this is true, but I'd hate to lay out the coin for a set of the Rineharts and not get the sound I thought I was going to get. I was thinking about putting a set on but now I think I'll waituntil I can find out what the deal is.
