My True duals with the Race tuner and download was $1600. The performance baffles are $120 and another hour of labor. I guess the $2200 thing might be right. I got 20% of all parts and service when I bought my bike though.
I bought my true duals on e bay, there are a couple of place that put them on sale for around 650.00 shipped to your door.Installed myself about 2.5 hrs,Added Air cleaner Myself. Took bike to dealer for the SERT and download. Was told by the dealer that on 90% of the bikes they do with this set up that a Dyno was not need because the download they have hits the mark. I only need it if I developed a decile pop after about 500 miles well after 5000 miles no problems. Less then 900.00,07 Rd glide.
I wanted rineharts also but they justwerentloud enough, especially at idle. Plus the black end caps turning colors. In saying all that IMO they the best looking pipes out there. I went with samson dual and thunderheader slipons. Many will say they are one of the ugliest muffs out there but man do they sound good. Sound good at idle, awsome when going threw the gears imo they quiet down at cruising speed.
My dealer said the same. No dyno is needed. The download works just fine. Well I am off to the dealer right now to have the performance baffles put in. We will let you know in a few hours how all turns out!
Just got back from the dealer. Had the high performance baffles installed. What a difference! They test rode my bike and you could hear it idle from 2 blocks away! He turned the corner and you could hear the pipes rumblin away. $120 for the part and the dealer only charged $35 to install. They sound great. A little rattle on decell but loud awesome sounding pipes! If anyone is getting Rinhart pipes installed make sure you get these too!
drrandall, Glad to hear you are happy. Do you think it also increased your performance? Can you do this with tru duels and slip ons? I have messed with the baffels when I had SE pipes on. Now that I have RH I'm looking at doing this now. Who did you order the baffels from?
The dealer had them in stock since a number of people were complaining about the low sound of Rineharts. They are the same size pretty much but for some reason a lot louder. Don't think it really changed much as far as performance though. But $160 out the door is a great deal to make your bike sound louder. Just wondering if the Vance and Hines would have sounded better.
drrandall, Just so I understand clearly, You had the bike for a while with the Rinehart True Duals installed on it? You didnt like how quiet it was, so you had the dealer install the performance baffles and now its louder? How many miles on it before the switch to the new baffles? You do have the True Duals right not just the slip-ons?
I hope you have the full system, you would make my day if its that much louder. I asked Rinehart about the performance baffles and they told me it would quiet the bike down, but it soulds like maybe I talked to a newbie at Rinehart.
