I wish you guys would tell your secret for tire wear,I don't ride hard,I still have the original brake pads at 20,000,on my third set of tires, about 7,000 is all I seem to get.
That makes two of us. I can only get @7500 out of a rear tire on my 07 Ultra. They way it's going I'll get an easy 21k out of the front, but that rear tire wears fast. I'm not hot-rodding it either.
I just replaced my stock Dunlop with 13,000 miles on it for a Metzeler. Not sure how the mileage life will play out with the Metzeler, but it will be worth it cause there is ABSOLUTELY no comparison in the handling of the bike with the new tire. The old dunlop would catch the road grooves and pull. The new Metz is beautiful. Doesn't even feel like I am riding the same bike.

Don't what to tell ya. I keep my air pressure up all the time and I ride solo most of the time. I got the same kind of service out of the Dunlops when I had my Dyna also.

That makes 3 of us, just got 8300 out of mine.....
I strongly agree with motown_hog, that you should worry a little less about your mileage
and worry more about handling, responsiveness, and overall performance. I switched to
the Metzler 880's on both front and rear and could not believe the difference especially in
turns (tracking), grooved roads and wind stability. You'll even see a difference pulling out of
the garage or parking.
Your gas mileage on a touring bike will be greatly affected by the air pressue, especially if
you carry a passenger. Make sure to check your psi at least every couple of weeks and run
it high at 36-38psi. I've got 5K on the Metzlers and they still look pretty new. Ride fast, ride safe.
On my SERK with radials and ABS I seem to be wearing both tires out equally -- about 6k on them and looks to be another 1-2K left any others out there with ABS have and milage #s. I really liked the ME880s on my Heritage
Yeah Stock on my 08 screaming eagle roadking D407 170/60R17 on the back and D407 130/70R18 on the front and as far as I can tell they are dealer only items
